Presentation Box

Each bottle comes safely enclosed in a hand assembled, no glue, bullet proof, plywood box. With Vicar's Son engraved on the front then painted (see image in images section). We can also hand write a note on our Vicar's Son notepaper if it's a gift (although we are both left handed....).

Botanicals

Batch 9 also included ginger and was a popular drop so we are having another go.

Fresh Ginger, Macedonian Juniper, Clevedon Orchard Villa Franca Lemon Peel, Lime Peel, Manuka Bark, Nutmeg, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Almonds, Cinnamon Sticks, Cardamom, Poppy Seeds, Liquorice, Coriander, Angelica root.

Distillation Notes

Grain fermentation early 2021, distilled 17th January, bottled 8th February  (to give the botanicals a chance to integrate with the Antipodes water) will continue to develop flavour in the bottle for the next 3-6 months (even after you open it).

We used the same process as Batch Eight for this one - normally after the botanical extraction cycle we let the spirit cool down, transfer it, clean the still of excess juniper oil then do the fourth and final distill the next day. As with Batch eight we distilled immediately after the extraction to get the maximum amount of flavour.

This batch has been distilled four times and went through 20 vapour infusion extraction cycles. It might not make any difference but we also used Antipodes Water in the extraction process instead of filtered water. It could make the gin just that little bit smoother.

As usual the pure gin was diluted with Carbon Neutral Antipodes Water to achieve 46% ABV.

BTW there's about 3 kilograms of Gladfield Barley and 1,000 hours of sunshine required to fill each Grain to Glass Gin Bottle.

Pair with Fever Tree Tonic Refreshingly Light for a lower calorie drink. Or you can enjoy with a few lumps of ice.

Tasting notes:

We made another batch of GinGer Gin because we had such good feedback about it.

The ginger flavour is subtle, not overpowering. You will also taste the freshness of lemon and lime, the fruitiness of the juniper berries, all complimenting each other beautifully.
